Under 9’s. Excellent Performance against Harvester Leopards. 1st Half was a tightly contested affair, but in the 2nd half the young wares played with more width, passed the ball more, and created numerous opportunities. An excellent goal by Alfie, from a James cross. MOM the match was Kyle, who alongside Jadon formed a solid defensive line.
Under 10s RED. Brilliant performance from the lads. They only had the bare 7, with Sol playing with a injury, and he did well playing up front, and scored a goal. Freddy worked hard throughout the game. The wares started well, and only the keeper stopped Sol and Basim scoring. Goals from Tyler and Jake in the first half were just reward. In the 2nd half Sol followed up a Rafferty shot, with Tyler adding a 4th. He ended up with a hat-trick. Basim and Kyle performed well in defence, with Jake playing the holding midfield role well.
Under 10’s BLUE. Another fine performance especially after drop outs due to injury and illness this morning. Josh stepped up from the U9’s and produced a MOM performance as well as scoring a goal. Jack played well up front, causing problems for the Omonia defence, with good support from Jack and Freddie. Overall a good performance
Under 11’s RED struggled to contain a Colney Reds side. Missing a penalty as well.
Under 11’s BLUE also struggled to get into their game, and were being pushed to stay in the game against their opposition.
Under 13’s outplayed their opposition for large portions of the game, but over complicated things in the last 3rd to only register a single goal from probably 70% of possession, then Getting caught on the break twice to lose the game 2-1.
Under 18’s Whites lost 4-1 to Borhamwood Knights in the opening Spring Cup group. Borehamwood seemed to want the win more than the greens. A sloppy 25 minute period saw 4 goals shipped in without reply. The 2nd half saw an improvement, and scored a consolation penalty.
Aldenham U13’s beat AC Finchley 4-3. The manager reminding the players of their need to work hard, worked dividends as they raced into a 3-1 lead at HT. Bad judgment led to conceding to goals, but a high press resulted in Aldenham grabbing a late winner. Joshua Borman was MOM as he played well out of position at Left back.
Aldenham U15’s were in a thrilling match against previously unbeaten Hadley Wood Herons. Some excellent passing in the 1st half saw Aldenham race into a 3-0 lead, with Jo Jo running the midfield. Farzan scored 2, with Jo Jo scoring from Long range. The 2nd half started and Hadley Wood showed why they had been unbeaten, and grabbed 2 goals back, before a Josh Silver strike made it 4-2. Out of nowhere the herons got2 gaols to make it 4 all. Aldenhams defence starting to look tired, the team dug deep though, and Farzan got his hat-trick to make it 5-4, then with a minute to go Hadley got their 5th and the equaliser…heartbreak for the team….but with 20 seconds left Jack Crocker hot a 6th and the win was Aldenhams 6-5. A strongly contested game, with fine performances all over the pitch, but Adam really stood out with his strong runs.
