The Anti-Bullying week takes place from 17th- 21st November 2014.
The theme of this year’s national campaign is special needs and disability and we are very keen to tie in with this locally with a sport-related campaign. We are unaware of anything similar to this currently running in Hertfordshire, so the anti-bullying campaign will start at a very low base in sport.
The main aim of this campaign is to raise awareness of bullying in sport. Through NGBs we want to encourage sport clubs to review their anti-bullying policy, if they have one, and then discuss with their members the topic of bullying and importance of anti-bullying.
One way we hope to raise awareness is by encouraging teams in both schools and clubs, to take a picture of their sports team holding a poster with the hashtag #StopBullying. We will be running this as a competition, with the most entertaining photos winning prizes. We would like to enlist your help to spread the word about this Anti-Bullying in Sport campaign and encourage people to take pictures of their teams with the #StopBullying hashtag sign, then post them on twitter with the tag @coachingherts
To enter the competition they must email the images to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thanks for your support.
